1. Confusing CBD Oil with CBD E-Liquid
.jpg)
This is a serious mistake. Putting sublingual CBD oil into an electronic cigarette dramatically increases the risk of developing lipoid pneumonia—a dangerous condition caused by inhaling oil particles that accumulate in the lungs.
CBD oils—whether MCT-based, hemp-based or olive-based—contain lipids that do not vaporize correctly. They are simply not designed for inhalation.
Quality CBD e-liquids use a PG/VG base (propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin), which turns into a fine vapor at low temperatures. This formulation allows CBD to reach the lungs without fat buildup:
- Propylene glycol thins the mixture and carries the CBD molecules
- Vegetable glycerin produces the visible vapor
This is why CBD oil manufacturers print warnings such as “Do not inhale” or “For oral use only” on their bottles. These warnings remind users that each CBD product has its own intended mode of administration. It is your responsibility to follow the manufacturer’s instructions precisely.

Choose either a ready-to-use CBD e-liquid, or a CBD booster to mix with your usual PG/VG base. Always check the wording “e-liquid” or “vape” on the label. |
2. Using the Wrong Device or Wrong Settings
CBD breaks down at high temperatures and produces irritating aldehydes above 230°C. High-power sub-ohm mods (50–100 W) far exceed this threshold and destroy CBD molecules before they even reach your lungs.
Result: harsh hits, excessive coughing, wasted CBD e-liquid, and a bad experience instead of the benefits of legal hemp.
Coils above 1 ohm deliver a tight draw (MTL – mouth to lung), which is perfectly suited to CBD. For proper CBD vaping, the ideal power range is 10 to 20 watts, keeping the temperature between 160°C and 200°C—the zone where CBD releases its calming and pain-relieving properties without generating harmful compounds.
For the PG/VG ratio, choose 70/30 or 60/40 (PG dominant). This prevents crystallization and ensures proper CBD diffusion.

MTL pods and tight-draw clearomizers remain the best options for CBD. |
3. Overdosing or Vaping CBD Like Nicotine
Three long puffs in a row, sudden heaviness, dry mouth… sounds familiar?
You’re simply vaping CBD as if it were nicotine.
But CBD does not hit like nicotine. It has no throat hit, no rapid rush. Its calming, analgesic and anti-stress effects appear gradually, as the puffs accumulate over a longer timeframe.
The golden rule is: “short puffs, then real breaks.”
- Two or three short draws, no more than 2–3 seconds
- Enjoy, then wait at least 10 minutes
- Listen to your body: feeling good? too heavy?
Adjust dosage and timing accordingly.
If you vape frequently during the day, stick to a low concentration (e.g., 100 mg/10 ml).
Keep higher strengths (300–600 mg/10 ml) for specific moments—like persistent insomnia or acute stress.
4. Falling for Low-Cost or Questionable CBD E-Liquids
Your criteria should be based on the composition, the supplier’s reputation, and the quality certificates—not the packaging design or unbelievably low price.
Never buy from shady websites or shops without a legal identity. Otherwise, you risk ending up with:
- CBD oil diluted and mislabeled as e-liquid (dangerous for inhalation)
- CBD e-liquids exceeding the legal 0.3% THC limit—common in smuggled products
- Liquids containing questionable solvents
- E-liquids manufactured with synthetic cannabinoids, which can cause severe side effects
At 321CBD, all our e-liquids are made from certified European hemp with guaranteed THC levels below 0.3%, compliant with French law. Every batch is tested by an independent French laboratory, and Certificates of Analysis (COA) are available on request.

5. Storing CBD E-Liquid Improperly, Leading to Crystallization

White crystals at the bottom of the bottle? Cloudy, viscous liquid?
Your product isn’t necessarily expired (check the date), but the CBD has crystallized due to poor storage.
CBD naturally tends to return to a solid form when exposed to cold temperatures or strong temperature variations.
Crystallization happens more easily in high-strength e-liquids (500 mg+).
Crystals can clog your coil’s cotton, create hot spots and burn it—resulting in a terrible burnt taste.
A ruined bottle.
CBD also hates direct sunlight.
Never store your e-liquid on a windowsill: UV light breaks down molecules, turning golden liquid into a brown, flavorless mix with no calming effects.
Exposure to air is also harmful. Leaving the cap loose or the bottle open accelerates degradation.
Store your e-liquid in a dark cupboard at 18–22°C, and shake well before each use to redistribute the molecules.

If crystals appear despite precautions, place the closed bottle in warm water for 5 minutes. |
