The ingredients of your CBD bread
We reassure you right away, making homemade bread is not very complicated... Here are the ingredients you will need for a nourishing and soothing CBD bread :
- 500 g of wholemeal flour, for a base rich in fiber;
- 7 g of active dry yeast;
- 250 ml of lukewarm water;
- 30 ml of quality CBD oil;
- 2 tablespoons of honey;
- 1 teaspoon of salt;
- A pinch of sugar;
- 100 g pecans (for crunchiness);
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed;
- Sunflower or pumpkin seeds (optional).
CBD bread: let’s get to the preparation!
In a small bowl, mix the lukewarm water, yeast and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy, a sign that the yeast is active and ready to use.
The temperature of the water makes all the difference : it must be hot enough to activate the yeast, but not so hot that it kills it. Aim for around 37°C.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, CBD oil and honey. Knead until you obtain a smooth dough, then add the mashed bananas and pecans.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
| The chef's secret To create an environment conducive to rising, place your bowl in an unlit oven with the light on. The gentle heat will help the dough rise optimally. |
Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and form your loaf. Place it in a prepared loaf pan and let it rise again until it fills the pan.
Preheat your oven to 180°C and bake the bread for around 30 to 40 minutes, until it is golden brown and the bottom sounds hollow when you tap it. Let cool on a rack before slicing. Your CBD bread is now ready to enjoy!
