How to use CBD flowers?

There are a multitude of CBD products available. In this case, CBD flowers are pure and can be used in many ways depending on your habits and needs. Varying the uses allows you to benefit from the effects of CBD in different ways. When you first discover the world of CBD, flowers are not necessarily the first thing you'll hear about. And yet, they are not so complicated to use. In this article, we explain in detail how to properly consume your CBD flowers.

The benefits of CBD flower

CBD flowers allow you to experience the benefits of CBD like any other fortified product. In this form, CBD is more pure and concentrated as it is not combined with other ingredients. To produce it legally, hemp must be grown with a high CBD yield and a low THC content. In this way, it is easier to extract CBD with a THC content of less than 0.2% and thus comply with the legislation in force. CBD flowers, as the name suggests, correspond to the flowers produced by the hemp plant and more specifically the female plants.

Most of the time, CBD flowers are considered a medicinal herb to relieve pain, fight stress and improve concentration. To take this a step further, it is possible to distinguish between two types of CBD flowers depending on the variety from which they originate. There are the Sativa varieties of CBD flowers which have a slightly more stimulating effect and a particularly strong smell. In contrast, the second variety of CBD is called Indica and it has milder aromas with a more soothing effect.

Generally speaking, the virtues of CBD are similar from one variety to another. However, if you are personally more sensitive to it, you can choose a variety with an Indica or Sativa dominance to meet your needs more precisely.

How to use CBD flowers

Depending on the technique you use, CBD flowers will be assimilated more or less quickly by your body. For example, when you ingest it directly after cooking or in an infusion, you will have to digest it first. CBD will therefore pass through your digestive system, and in particular the liver, before it can take effect. You will therefore feel the benefits later, but for a longer time. For instant effects, you can vaporise the CBD flowers. By inhaling the vapours directly, you'll get a faster sense of well-being.

Making an infusion with CBD flowers

Making an infusion with CBD flowers is one of the easiest ways to enjoy the benefits of CBD. It also allows you to tailor the dosage of CBD to your needs by using more or less flowers. You can choose ready-made infusions that combine several ingredients or buy CBD flowers on their own to create a customised infusion. If you choose this second method, you can add other ingredients to add flavour or benefit from the natural effects of other plants, fruits and spices.

To infuse CBD flowers, you must first grind them into fine crumbs so that they release its flavours and properties more easily. Then place your crushed flowers in a tea ball, infuser or filter. This is when you can add other ingredients, also in crumbs or powder. You can also drop fruit pieces directly into your cup, jug or teapot. In order for your CBD to be properly assimilated, you need to add a fat to your preparation. You can use your choice of milk, cream or butter.

When you have made your choice, simply heat it up and then let your CBD flowers infuse for 5 to 10 minutes. You'll get a warm, comforting and indulgent drink to enjoy!

Use CBD flowers in the kitchen

Another way to consume CBD flowers is to cook them. This way, instead of drinking them, you can eat them. With this technique you will also digest the CBD and therefore have slower, but longer lasting effects. Again you can dose the CBD as you wish depending on your needs and how you feel by using more or less flowers.

As with an infusion, you will need to combine your CBD flowers with a fatty substance. The easiest way is to make pastries by creating CBD-enriched butter beforehand. To do this, you need to powder the CBD flowers, melt your butter and mix the two together. Leave your mixture to infuse over a low heat, the longer you leave it to simmer, the more intense the effects of the CBD will be. Then strain the mixture to recover only the infused butter. You can now place it in the fridge to return to a solid form and later make cakes, biscuits or pies.

Before using CBD flowers in cooking, you can carboxylate them. This step makes them edible when you intend to cook them in a preparation. To carboxylate your flowers, you need to dry them in the oven at 120° for at least 30-40 minutes.

Spraying the CBD flower to inhale

If you are used to smoking, and especially vaping, then you should know that it is also possible to vaporize CBD flowers. This use allows you to inhale CBD-enriched vapor, not smoke, which is much less harmful.

If you want to vaporize your flowers, you're going to need a plant material vaporizer. These little devices can be set to a variety of temperatures, for CBD flowers you'll want to choose around 170°. While your vaporizer is preheating, you can start preparing your flowers. Take the amount of flowers of your choice and chop them up. You can use a knife as well as a manual or electric grinder to get a more precise result. To go faster, you can do this step in one go to create a ready-to-use stock.

Now that your flowers are ready, follow the instructions on your vaporizer to insert them into the chamber. You don't want to pack them in too tightly or the air won't be able to circulate. There you go, you can enjoy the benefits of CBD by using your vaporizer and sucking in the vapor it produces!

Now you know all the ways to use CBD flowers. The reason we haven't explained how to smoke them is because this method is harmful and less effective than the ones mentioned in our article. This is because when they burn, the smoke they give off is bad for your lungs and therefore for your health. Thanks to all the methods mentioned, you can enjoy the therapeutic virtues of hemp in complete serenity.
